We present a selection of Ritchie Hawtin / Plastikman titles. Richie Hawtin is a Canadian-British techno producer who, as Plastikman and through his Plus 8 and M_nus labels, became a defining figure in minimal techno, known for landmark albums like Sheet One and Consumed and for pushing DJ technology forward with live, laptop-based performance. Available now Plastikman – Krakpot Acid techno perfection. Two fantastic tracks on a modest 12″. System 7 – Alpha Wave (Plastikman Acid House Mix) Masterpiece remix that was in everybodys record box. With just with a small part from the original track Hawtin transformed it to one of the finest acid excursions from the 90s. Winx – Don’t Laugh (Richie Hawtin Remix) Sinister idea with a sinister voice turned into an even more sinsiter remix. Only 15 minutes! Not far from Detroit Richie grew up and became one the most important figures in the techno. He has crafted his own personal style and signature through many years of experiementing with new ideas. Also outside the traditional form. The minimal techno path has noe always led to musical flowers but he as managed to keep his outcome relevant alll the way. Hardtrax – Cowboyphunk The Hawtin brothers did two successful 12″s under the Hardtrax name. Lovely 909 work out, Plastikman – Hypokondriak If you want to add stress to a discussion or drive your non-techno friends to madness, play this. Otherwise a superb tension builder whenever you need it. Richie Hawtin – Minus Orange Based on a Yello sample. This was the 12″ to accompanying his impressive Decks, EFX & 909 tour. The M_nus label was new and the music went to a more DJ orientated approach from here. F. U. S. E. – Phase 1 (Motorcity Madness) Before Plastikman there was F.U.S.E.. A project with key partner John Acquaviva One of his first releases. Might have felt futuristic at the time but the brilliance was just around the corner. Jack Master – Bang The Box A big nod to Chicago and its roots of house music. F.U.S.E. – Train-trac Even the simplest ideas can blossom to a cool track, or five in this case.
