Beskrivelse

Recreation of a Roland Classic
The Boss RE-20 is a recreation of the iconic Roland RE-201 Space Echo, using the innovative COSM technology to faithfully deliver every sonic detail and nuance the original produced. Everything about the RE-20 has been ripped straight from the Space Echo, from its spacious analogue tone to the faithful modelling of the original’s tape flutters and magnetic head saturation. The Boss Tape Echo also features the same 12 modes as the original, offering different combinations of echo and reverb. The only real difference between the RE-20 and the RE-201, besides its size, is the extended delay time, tap pedal for setting the delay time, and stompbox format.

Excellent Connectivity
Along with its stunning tonal capabilities, the RE-20 is fitted with an EXP input and stereo in/outputs, ensuring players can seamlessly integrate it into any rig and deliver incredible soundscapes. Use the stereo in/outputs to set up a variety of different rigs, connecting it to dual speakers or sent directly to a PA system. The EXP input allows players to connect an expression pedal, providing external control over the repeat rate, intensity, and echo level. The expression pedal can also be set to the twist mode, controlling the repeat rate and intensity simultaneously while making adjustments to the echo volume according to the set echo level.

About the Original RE-201 Tape Echo
The original Roland Space Echo RE-201 tape echo machine made its debut in 1974, taking the fragile and unreliable technology of the time and turning it into a robust and roadworthy device. Although it’s no longer in production, the RE Space Echo remains a world famous and widely acclaimed device, with a sound that still intrigues musicians of today. Everything about the Roland tape echo was loved by players, from its pleasing chorus effects that was created by the subtle wavering from the tape movement, to the characteristic compressed sound from the magnetic saturation of the tape.
